Hey, you! Yes, I am speaking to you. Why do you shrink, just so other people don’t feel insecure around you? You have so much skill and talent, yet you down play just so others won’t be upset and maybe talk negatively about you. I say, let them talk…

You walk around pretending to be less than what you are or less capable of what you are capable of just to satisfy others. You can’t help it if they’re jealous, somewhat envious and just plain haters. That’s not your problem, it’s a problem they have within themselves. It’s not your fault that you are taking full advantage of your blessings and putting them to use. Yet, you allow them to make you feel less than what you are, even sometimes invisible.

Do you know that some of your biggest fear is not really about what others might say or think about you, but of what you think of yourself? You are afraid to allow your God given talents to shine through. We all were given a special skill, talent and some unique abilities and it is our obligation to use what we were given. I am not saying you need to walk around bragging about all you can do, but you should not allow what you can do go to waste or go unnoticed. We were all born of greatness! Great at whatever wonderful ability God blessed us with. And you should have no shame in that.

By the way, why do everything have to be a competition? We compete against our siblings, our spouses, our co-workers and even our friends, when the only person we should be in competition with is ourselves. Yes, we should be competition with ourselves every day to be better than we were the day, week, month or year before. That is the only competition any of us should be worried about, not someone else.

However, in order to use all that greatness inside you, you must first believe that you are great and that you can do anything you put your mind to. Don’t allow fear or another person to stop you. Also, don’t waste your time being jealous of someone just because they are doing their thing. Instead, be happy for them and use all that jealously to go harder for what you want out of your life and don’t worry about what others are doing in theirs. You may have heard the saying “In order to get something you never had, you have to do something you’ve never done.” So, you may have to work extra, extra hard and sacrifice some things to get you to your goal, but eventually you will get there.

You have all the ability, skills and smarts you need to get where and what you want in life, so just remain positive, focused and determined to get there, and you will. Don’t listen to the naysayers, or any negative feedback that people love to put in your ear to make you feel bad, scared, insecure or unsure of yourself. Usually, those that say you can’t or won’t do something, are secretly envious of you and really wish they had the gumption to do what you do. You have a special gift, so don’t be afraid to use it.

Did you know, that when you allow yourself to become fearless of what others may think of you and the way you put all that you were blessed with to use, that it allows them to see all that they are blessed with, as well? When you show your fearlessness, you are unknowingly giving others the strength to become fearless as well and giving them the permission they need to start putting their blessings to use.

Well, there you have it, I have said my piece. I hope you have taken it all in and will no longer downplay your blessings. I want you to be humble, yet proud of yourself and start believing in yourself enough to do what is needed to get you where you want to be. So, go ahead and Shine!
