Time to set a new Example
Did you know that the way you handle yourself is the standard of which you allow others to handle you?
So, as you go along your daily routine, be mindful of how you treat yourself. When you are cleaning your body, are you harsh or gentle? As you are putting those nourishments into your body, are you aware of how much time, energy and attention you give to the nourishing process. Are you aware and observant or are you unaware and rushed? Be very careful how you treat yourself because the way you treat yourself is the standard you set for others to treat you.
What about the way you treat your mind. We all talk to ourselves, yet when you talk to yourself are you cursing, yelling or accusing yourself? How about when you question yourself, are you finding fault with yourself? Do you even allow yourself the courtesy of a complete thought, or do you stop your thoughts dead in their tracks with frustration and judgment? You have to start becoming more aware of how you think the thoughts you think.
And what about your soul, how do you handle that? How do you handle yourself in a crisis? Do you allow yourself permission to ask questions? What about plans you make with yourself, when you break them are you understanding toward yourself or do you start freaking out? Do you have mercy on yourself?
You may not be aware of how unkind, impatient, critical, angry, unsupportive, frustrated and down right rough you can be with yourself. With this coming New Year, allow this to be the start of you becoming more aware of how you treat yourself. Only then will you set a new example of standards on how others are allowed to treat you.
