4 Tips on How to Reinvent Yourself

reinvent yourself 2It’s never too late to choose a different path and a new life.

Do you feel cornered by the decisions you’ve made in your life?

Did you choose a specific career because you thought that’s what you wanted only to find out that it’s not fulfilling you?

If you answered yes to either of these questions, it’s perfectly normal. Most people at one point in their lives feel this way, mostly because they have low consciousness levels. From a very young age we are told what to do and what path to follow: Go to college, get a “useful” degree, find a high-paying job, buy a house and a car, get married, climb the ladder, and then retire. The problem with this is that it doesn’t necessarily bring fulfillment and meaning into our lives.

The good news is that it’s never too late to take a step back and choose a new path and a new life. If you are going through a transitional period in your life, these four tips can help you reinvent yourself and start a new path:

1. Show Gratitude
No matter what happens, always be positive about the different experiences and people you come in contact with throughout life. Each one of them has very valuable lessons to teach us. It goes without saying that the nicer you are, the more willing others are going to be to help you.

2. Get rid of the negative
Make a list of people who are an emotional drag on you and cut them out. Start looking for new relationships that can inspire you, and add some positivity into your life. Surround yourself with people who want you to succeed.

3. Take care of your mind
Set some time in the morning and before going to bed to meditate and think about how you want to grow and contribute to the world. Take the time to define what will make you happy. Talk to people who have been through the same thing for advice.

4. Take care of your body
No matter what you are going through, keep yourself active and eat healthy during this transitional period. You are going to need all the energy you can get to push through it.

  1. Taking care of my body is the one I need to work on. I eat right but still suffer from poor energy levels and I get sick quite easily, which probably has something to do with my lack of exercise. You’re right about needing energy to keep up the momentum – it’s so easy to fall back into bad habits, and a willing mind isn’t too useful if it’s not supported by a healthy body. Thanks for the encouragement 🙂

    • Hey Marigold, don’t be too hard on yourself. 🙂 Changing your habits take a lot of work and will power. Trust me…I know! 🙂 What’s important is the fact that you acknowledge the fact that you have a hard time with certain things and you are aware. Change will happen. We all need to change some things withing ourselves, whether it is to be more healthy, less negative, less single minded, trust me again, there is a lot we are all dealing with and are aware that we need to change somethings. Just do one at a time. Rome wasn’t built in a day and it took God 6 days to create all he created, so don’t sweat the small stuff! 🙂 Do what you can when you can, but do something to better yourself. Keep your head up and be safe in those mines. I will keep you in my prayers as I pray for my own will power…hows that? 🙂 Talk to you soon! Have a great week!
