Make the Best of It
Do you ever wonder how many days left you have on earth? I think about it all the time. I must say, it is one of the scariest thoughts that I have. What makes it so scary for me is the unknowing part. I’m not lying, I think about this a great deal. However, I think about it most in the morning, right after I say my prayers and give my thanks to God for allowing me to live another day. Of course I don’t know how many days I have left (none of us do), but I do know they are limited and that is why I show my appreciation each day that I have the grace to do so. I show my appreciation by doing something worthwhile. For me doing something worthwhile could be my being of help to someone, having some deep discussion or working on my craft helping myself in a way that will be beneficial and worthwhile. Being appreciative is also why I don’t stress about getting older, since the older I get only means the longer I get to LIVE.
When we don’t take advantage of the opportunity given to us to live another day, it’s a crime, and one I try not to commit. That is why it is important that we remind ourselves that each day counts and we need to make the best of it. Make each day worthwhile.
I am sure we all have heard of or may even know someone who works and works, and works by trying to prove how productive they are, or how important their family is to them and as they try to please everyone at work and at home they work themselves so much until they become ill, or have a heart attack or worse work themselves into the ground. I’m not saying not to be productive, or what some may call overly ambitious. That is not what I am saying at all. However, I am saying that if you stopped and took the time in way to nourish yourself, you will find it to be worthwhile to you. It will benefit you greatly to take time to regroup and when you regroup it also allows you to do worthwhile things. Maybe you may have specific goals you want to reach, they could be career goals or personal goals, it shouldn’t matter which, just something that is worthwhile to you that you want to attain.
Remember the saying “Life is short.” And since each day counts, therefore you need to make the best of it.
