How To Lose Some Weight & Worry


Maybe what we really need is a spiritual diet! A spiritual diet will cut down on the excess weight we carry around in our souls. The weight of people who have disappointed us or hurt us. The weight of things we should have done, could have done, or wanted to do, but couldn’t bring ourselves to do. As a matter-of-fact, that weight around the middle area could be those people we’ve been hanging around or allowing to hang onto us. The heaviness in our legs could be all those things we convinced ourselves we were not smart enough, good enough or ready enough to do. That sluggish, heavy feeling we have in our heart might be our dreams, goals, and fantasies. Maybe we haven’t put them to use, so they’ve turned to weight, spiritual weight which has our whole life weighed down.

Yes! I believe a spiritual diet is exactly what we need! We can start right now with a heaping of forgiveness smothered in surrender. We will also need a big helping of laughter at least three to four times a day. Next, we must begin each day with prayer, followed by a dose of gratitude. For the next six to eight weeks, sprinkle everything with faith, and wash it down with courage, then let desert be a swig of confidence. I am sure if we follow these directions with all of our heart, we will experience a miraculous weight loss.
